Terms of Service
These Terms of Service govern the use of SteamHelper, including the website, backend services and browser extension. Please read them carefully before using the product.
1. Provider and scope
SteamHelper is provided by Sellrock UG (haftungsbeschränkt), Kölner Str. 43a, 90425 Nürnberg, Germany. These terms apply to all access to and use of SteamHelper, including the website at steamhelper.app, the API at api.steamhelper.app, the browser extension, the extension app window and any related services.
By installing, accessing or using SteamHelper, you agree to these terms. If you use SteamHelper on behalf of a company or other organization, you confirm that you are authorized to bind that organization. If you do not agree, you must not use SteamHelper.
2. What SteamHelper provides
SteamHelper adds contextual tools for Steam users. The product may display inventory value, price comparisons, item details, market links, favorites, price alerts, trade review helpers, bulk selling support, profile privacy utilities and related overlays on Steam pages. Some features may be free, experimental, limited, changed, removed or offered as paid features in the future.
SteamHelper is a decision-support tool. It does not guarantee prices, profit, liquidity, marketplace availability, trade safety or future item value. Every action on Steam remains your own responsibility and must be reviewed by you before confirmation.
3. Independence from Steam and Valve
SteamHelper is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Valve Corporation. Steam, Steam Community, Steam Market, Counter-Strike, CS2 and related marks belong to Valve Corporation or their respective owners. Your use of Steam remains subject to Valve's terms, policies and technical restrictions.
You must not use SteamHelper in a way that violates Steam's rules, circumvents Steam protections, abuses other users, manipulates markets unlawfully or breaches any applicable law. If a Steam feature or policy changes, SteamHelper features may stop working or may need to be changed without prior notice.
4. Eligibility, account and authentication
You may use SteamHelper only if you are legally able to enter into a binding agreement and if you may use Steam and the Chrome Web Store under the rules that apply to you. You are responsible for your Steam account, browser profile, devices and network connection.
SteamHelper sign-in uses Steam OpenID and our backend session. We do not ask for your Steam password. You must keep your Steam account, browser account and devices secure. If you believe that your SteamHelper session or Steam account has been compromised, you should sign out, revoke affected credentials where possible and contact us.
5. Extension permissions and user-facing functions
The browser extension requests permissions that are needed for visible SteamHelper functions, such as local settings storage, Steam OpenID sign-in, reading selected Steam cookies for session-bound Steam features, alarms and notifications for price alerts and gift checks, and declared host access for Steam, the Steam Web API, the SteamHelper API and currency-rate lookup endpoints.
You understand that browser and Steam permissions may allow the extension to process information from Steam pages where the extension runs. SteamHelper uses that information for the features presented to you, not for unrelated browsing tracking or advertising.
6. Prices, item data and third-party data
SteamHelper may show prices, price comparisons, discounts, item metadata, trade values and estimated inventory totals. These values can be delayed, incomplete, inaccurate, unavailable or different from the price at which an item can actually be bought or sold. Marketplaces may change fees, liquidity, availability, restrictions and listing rules at any time.
Price and item data may come from Steam, Steam pages, Steam APIs, SteamWebAPI.com, marketplace integrations, cached backend data or other providers. We do not guarantee any particular data source, calculation method, update interval or result. You must verify important information before trading, selling, buying or relying on it.
7. Trading, selling and automation
SteamHelper may help you prepare or review Steam actions, including market listings, bulk selling, trade-offer checks, profile privacy changes and gift auto-accept behavior. Unless expressly stated otherwise in the user interface, these functions are intended to be review-first tools. You remain responsible for every Steam action performed through your browser session.
Gift Auto Accept, where enabled, is designed to accept only incoming offers where you give zero items and receive at least one item. It is not intended to accept normal trades in which you give items away. You can disable optional automation features at any time, and you should review settings regularly.
8. Favorites, alerts and notifications
Favorites, price alerts and notification features are convenience tools. Notifications may be delayed, missed, duplicated or delivered after a market condition has changed. SteamHelper does not promise that you will receive an alert before a price changes, before an item sells out or before a trade opportunity disappears.
If you connect optional notification channels such as Telegram, Discord webhooks, browser notifications or other delivery methods, you are responsible for the correctness and security of those channels. We may disable or rate-limit notification delivery where needed to protect the service or prevent abuse.
9. Paid features
SteamHelper may offer paid plans, subscriptions, credits or paid features in the future. Prices, taxes, billing intervals, included features and cancellation rules will be shown before purchase. Unless mandatory law provides otherwise, access to paid digital features may begin immediately after purchase and payments already made are non-refundable.
We may change, add or remove paid features over time. If we materially reduce an active paid feature, we will try to provide reasonable notice or a commercially reasonable alternative where appropriate.
10. Acceptable use
You must not misuse SteamHelper. In particular, you must not attack, disrupt, overload, scrape or reverse engineer the service beyond what is legally permitted; bypass access controls; use another person's account without permission; submit malicious content; interfere with other users; use SteamHelper for fraud, phishing, spam, money laundering, market manipulation or unlawful activity; or use SteamHelper in a way that harms Steam, Valve, other marketplaces or other users.
We may suspend, limit or terminate access where we reasonably believe that use violates these terms, creates legal or security risk, affects service stability, causes excessive load, harms other users or may expose us or our partners to liability.
11. Availability and changes
SteamHelper is provided on an as-available basis. We may update, pause, limit, replace or discontinue features, integrations, APIs, background jobs, caches or user interfaces. SteamHelper depends on browsers, Steam pages, Steam APIs, third-party data and external infrastructure, all of which can change or fail outside our control.
We try to keep the product reliable, but we do not promise uninterrupted availability, permanent compatibility with Steam, a specific response time or a specific review outcome in the Chrome Web Store or any other marketplace.
12. Intellectual property
SteamHelper, including its software, source code, design, texts, logos and other original content, belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by applicable law. We grant you a personal, limited, revocable, non-exclusive and non-transferable right to use SteamHelper for its intended purpose under these terms.
You may not copy, redistribute, resell, sublicense, modify or create derivative works from SteamHelper except where this is expressly allowed by law or by a written license from us. Third-party item names, images, marketplace names and trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.
13. Warranty disclaimer
SteamHelper is provided without warranties of any kind to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the product will be error-free, secure against every threat, compatible with every browser or Steam change, or that any price, item, inventory, trade or alert information will be accurate, complete, current or suitable for your purposes.
14. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, lost profits, lost items, lost market opportunities, loss of account access, loss of data or loss of goodwill arising out of or related to SteamHelper. Nothing in these terms limits liability for intent, gross negligence, injury to life, body or health, product liability or other liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
15. Termination
You may stop using SteamHelper at any time by signing out, deleting stored extension data and uninstalling the extension. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these terms, if required by law, if continued access creates security or operational risk, or if we discontinue the service.
16. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, excluding conflict-of-law rules and excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. Mandatory consumer protection rules in your country of residence remain unaffected where they apply.
If you have a concern, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it directly. We are neither obliged nor willing to participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
17. Changes and contact
We may update these terms as SteamHelper develops. The current version is published at this URL. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date above and, where appropriate, by providing a more prominent notice. Questions about these terms can be sent to [email protected] or [email protected].
